Prior to joining TWG, Michael spent the last 25 years with The GEM Group and the former Lang & Associates. He was a Partner in both organizations rising to the position of Chief Operating Officer with GEM. He is one of the global pioneers in introducing strategic planning into the sport and event marketing fields for corporations, government and not-for-profit (NFP) organizations.

Mike has extensive experience in a variety of industry, sport, arts and NFP sectors including, but not limited to, telecommunications, financial services, retail, golf, hockey, Olympics and community relations. Some of the programs and promotions developed and implemented by Mike and his team include the Youth Olympic Program for the Stentor Alliance, the Canadian Tire National Cycling Series, the Bell Canadian Open, the Canadian Tire Child Protection Foundation, TD Bank Financial Group’s Jazz Festivals, the Purolator Tackle Hunger program with the CFL and TSN, The Big Scratch for the Atlantic Lottery Commission (Guinness World Record for largest scratch card), the Coors Light Silver Suite and the Molson Best Seats in the House.

He has worked as a marketing consultant to the Macaulay Commission (Domed- Stadium in Toronto) and sponsorship consultant to Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Real Madrid Football Club and the Canadian Olympic Committee.
